Over the course of the past 20 years, Rev. Shannon Keith Powell and his family have been serving the Lord as missionaries with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
After working all throughout Greater Charlotte during these last two decades, his ministry focus is now centered on the campus of Wingate University.
In order for ministry with FCA to operate efficiently, funding must be developed through partners (friends, family, businesses, etc.)
who see and catch the vision of what the Lord is doing. FCA relies on the generous donations (tax-deductible) to sustain ministry efforts.
On Thursday, April 25, 2024, Shannon will be hosting a fundraising event called, The Chainbreaker.
This will be a solo bicycle ride which will invite new, as well as established, partners to join in financially sponsoring this effort per mile.
Shannon’s intent is to ride from Monroe, NC to Myrtle Beach, SC (approx. 170 miles) in a single day!
Pray & consider joining this effort in generating $30,000+ by simply pledging to support this ride.
Your pledge will help create the funding margin needed for staff and resources that helps minister
to the hearts of all students, athletes and coaches on the campus of Wingate University.
We are praying and working daily to help them overcome temptations and break the chains of sin in their lives!

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes began in 1954, with one man's vision to reach the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ, through the influence of sports. It has now grown into a Global Mission reaching millions for Christ. We want to unite together in a FCA Wingate Prayer Challenge.
We invite EVERYONE of our Coaches, Rostered & Non-Rostered Athletes, Fitness For Life Students, Alumni, Character Coaches, Wingate Administration & Faculty, Donors, Volunteers, Church Partners, Friends, and Family to join us in prayer daily on the 19th hour and 54 minute (7:54 p.m.) for our FCA ministry on the Wingate University Campus.

We have seen over 80 decisions for Christ in 2023, along with many more disciples growing
and being launched successfully from our ministry year after year.
What an honor and privilege it is to see the Lord at work all around us!
God is clearly showing us evidence that there is so much more work yet to be done.
As a complete faith-funded ministry, every donation is used to engage, equip, and empower
coaches and athletes in greater ways right here on the campus of Wingate University.
We need more resources and staff to continue building a legacy for Christ for the days ahead.
The harvest is great and we long to continue moving forward in faithful obedience to His leading in every step!
